2019 Registration Information


REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT: Please register and pay online at http://gpnwCofC.eventbrite.com. Alternatively, send your completed Reunion Registration Form and full payment to Attn: (name of reunion), Community of Christ, PO Box 60227, Renton WA 98058. Make any checks payable to "Community of Christ." All payments will be processed when received. Advance freewill offerings cover costs not included in the registration fee and are appreciated to help meet the reunion budget.

EARLY BIRD DEADLINE: Receive a discounted registration fee when registration and full payment are received or postmarked on or before the Early Bird deadline.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Final registration and payment deadline is noted for each reunion. Registrations postmarked after the Registration deadline will be accepted at the discretion of the Reunion Director.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS: Please notify Jill Brunette of your need to cancel as soon as possible. Refunds will be made as follows:
  • Before Registration Deadline: 100%
  • On or after Registration Deadline, prior to the first day of reunion: 2/3
  • On or after first day of reunion: No refunds

    PART-TIME & DROP-IN:
  • Attending During One Meal Time, No Overnight Stay: If you attend reunion during a single meal time (whether or not you eat the meal) and do not stay overnight, RSVP directly with the Reunion Director. A Reunion Registration (online or form) is not required. A single drop-in meal fee will be payable on site. Single drop-in meal fees:
         - Adult Reunion at Samish Island: $10 per person
         - Family Reunion at Lewis River: $6 per person (ages 11 & up), $4 per child (ages 5-10), and free for ages 4 and under
         - NW Singles Reunion at Samish Island: $10 per person
         - Family Reunion at Samish Island: $10 per person (ages 12 & up), $5 per child (ages 6-11), and free for ages 5 and under
         - Family Reunion at Remote: $6 per person
  • Attending During Two or More Meal Times, No Overnight Stay: If you attend reunion during two or more meal times in a day (whether or not you eat both meals) and do not stay overnight, RSVP directly with the Reunion Director. A Reunion Registration (online or form) is not required. Your director will provide you with your fee, payable on site.
  • Any Part-Time Overnight Stay: If you plan to stay the night on site for any length of time, you must complete and return a Reunion Registration Form and pay the daily rate indicated on that form.

    SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: Our cooks do their best to meet the special dietary requirements and food allergy needs of our campers. Sometimes those needs cannot be met due to limited cooking staff. It is a best practice to bring some personal food with you to supplement what is provided. Please only indicate a special dietary requirement if this is reflective of your everyday diet.

    EVENT RULES: Not following the printed or announced rules and reminders of camp may result in you and your family being asked to leave the camp experience.
  • Participate in a daily work assignment if physically able.
  • Follow the health, safety and property care rules of the campground.
  • Be courteous and respectful of others and their property.
  • No pets of reunion campers allowed on campground property.
  • Do not possess or use recreational marijuana, medical marijuana, alcohol, or illegal drugs on campground property. Do not use e-cigarettes or tobacco products on campground property.
  • You must be the parent or legal guardian, or have consent of the parent/legal guardian, to register and/or sponsor any child/youth under the age of 18.
  • Sponsors of children and youth must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older AND a minimum of 5 years older than the children and youth they are sponsoring. Children and youth must stay with their sponsor, who is responsible for their whereabouts and behavior. Children and youth are those under the age of 18.
  • Community of Christ is not responsible for any lost or stolen items at reunion.



    Adult Reunion @ Samish: June 8, 3 pm to June 13, 12 noon


    Adult Reunion includes all people, ages 18 to 118. Activities include communion, preaching services, daily prayer services, afternoon chats, as well as relaxing time to visit, enjoy nature walks, and sing. There will be no activities planned for children or youth.

    REUNION MINISTRY
    Tammy Lindle LewisTammy Lindle Lewis, a staff executive for Community of Christ, is an Editor and Project Management Specialist at International Headquarters. She holds the priesthood office of Elder. She has served as Missionary Leadership Development Specialist at International Headquarters focusing on the development needs of pastors and priesthood members. She also coordinated the development and production of missionary and discipleship materials for members and friends of Community of Christ. She served as an education and editorial specialist in Temple School, where she assisted in the editorial review of materials produced by Field Resources and the development, maintenance, and teaching of Temple School courses and related materials. Born in Independence, Missouri, Tammy received a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational communications from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg; a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Baker University, Baldwin City, Kansas; and a Master of Arts in religion from Community of Christ Seminary, Graceland University, Independence, Missouri.

    Pam CressPam Cress, GPNW Adult Formation Specialist, has served as a full-time minister in Community of Christ for 17 years. She holds the office of Evangelist. Pam has a master’s degree in education and speech-language pathology from Wichita State University. She has also completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education, attended seminary at Graceland University, and completed studies for certification as a Spiritual Director. Pam has owned a private practice clinic in speech language pathology and worked as a certified hospital chaplain before entering full-time ministry with the church. Her roles within the church have included Coordinator of Wholeness Ministries, Mission Center President for two jurisdictions, and Spiritual Formation/Discipleship Formation ministries on the North Central Field Apostolic team. She is passionate about deepening discipleship and equipping leaders for mission. Pam and her husband, Eric, have been married for 38 years and live in Bonney Lake, Washington.

    Kim NatenKim Naten is grateful for her lifelong affiliation with, and heritage in, Community of Christ. She grew up in the Seattle area, attending Crystal Springs and Rainier Valley congregations as well as reunions and youth camps at Samish Island every summer. Kim attended Graceland University and Edmonds Community College and has held administrative positions both in the legal and law enforcement fields. She and her family were active members of Woodland Park Congregation until relocating to Chehalis, WA, in 2009, when they joined Olympia Congregation. Kim served as GPNW Mission Center Membership Services Administrator for six years, as well as Congregational Support Minister along with her husband, Rick. She also served as Pastor and Co-Pastor of Olympia Congregation for four years. She and Rick have been involved in the youth camping program for over 30 years as counselors, directors, cooks and Mission Center Camping Team members. While Kim and Rick are officially “empty nesters,” they enjoy spending time with their two children and their spouses, Taylor (Shelby) and Katherine (Matt), and their three 4-legged “kids,” Blaise, Leo, and Tiki. They are eagerly looking forward to their new roles as Grammy and Pops when they welcome their first grandchild in April 2017.

    Donald WelchDonald Welch is an Oregon boy, born and raised. His wife, Carrie (Garwood) Welch, was also born in Oregon but moved to Missouri when she was eight. They have been married for 13 years and have have two children: Jayne, 20, and Samantha, 13. Donald left Oregon when he first felt the call to serve the church in 1998: in Anchorage, Alaska for five years, then in Mesa, Arizona for seven years, and finally in Council Bluffs, Iowa for eight years. He has held many job titles for the church—youth pastor, church planter, mission center missionary coordinator, and pastor—but after 20 years, he could not resist the urge to come home. His family moved to Salem, Oregon in August 2018.

    Sean LangdonSean Langdon has served Community of Christ as a field minister since January 2012. In addition to his ministerial staff roles, he also helps coordinate ministry events for Young Adults throughout the GPNW Mission Center and co-leads a campus ministry at Oregon State University. Previously, Sean worked as Guardianship Support Staff for developmentally disabled adults with Share & Care House, a non-profit organization that has a long history with Community of Christ in the Puget Sound area. Serving in the priesthood as a Seventy, his ministerial passions include various missional endeavors, compassionate ministries to the oppressed, and bringing relevant ministry to people of all ages, especially youth. Sean was born and raised in the Northwest and is a lifelong Community of Christ member. He currently resides in Oregon where he enjoys live music, participating in various social justice causes, going on road trips, hiking in the mountains or walking along the coast of the Pacific Ocean, and simply laughing and visiting with friends.

    Family Reunion @ Lewis River: June 23, 2:30 pm to June 28, 12 noon


    Enjoy the renewal of friendships and the wide range of ages joining in fun and fellowship at Lewis River Reunion! Families gather around the creek. Children and grandchildren play with glee. Teens reconnect with old friends. Adults gather for chats under a tree. The adventurous explore the waterfalls up the hill or swim in the river below. Music, laughter, learning, new opportunities for discipleship, and sharing one’s heart are all possibilities within the week’s experience.

    REUNION MINISTRY
    Kris JuddKris Judd serves as staff pastor. She was ordained to Evangelist in 2014. Kris has served in many areas of ministry — previously as a President of Seventy and Missionary Coordinator, Pastor of a multicultural urban congregation, and a minister to children, youth, women, and families from disadvantaged situations. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, she received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. After graduating, she obtained a Specialist in school psychology from Iowa State University in Ames. Kris’ 13-year career as a school psychologist included work in Iowa and Kansas. She has completed ministerial education and discipleship studies training and is a certified spiritual director trained through Souljourners in Atchison, Kansas.

    Peter JuddPeter Judd retired from full-time church appointment at the 2005 World Conference. He served as a member of the Quorum of the First Presidency. As a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles, Peter was assigned to the South Central and West Central Mission Fields. He was Secretary for the Council of Twelve and served various capacities on the church’s international staff and as a staff appointee in the North Central Mission Field. As a volunteer in his retirement, Peter has edited a number of resources published by Herald House, Community of Christ Seminary Press, and the John Whitmer Historical Association. He is team lead for the church’s annual performances of Handel’s Messiah. A native of Enfield, England, he received a Bachelor of Arts in religion and business administration from Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa; a Master of Arts in economics from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas; and a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Saint Paul School of Theology, Kansas City, Missouri. Peter has authored or co-authored eight books and a number of articles, pamphlets, study resources, and other publications for the church. He is married to Kris Judd and has two daughters and three granddaughters.

    We are so excited for Samish Family Reunion this summer! Come join us for a week filled with fellowship, worship, salmon barbecue, sports and activities, campfires, and baptismal service, all set amidst the simple beauty and sacred space that Samish is for so many of us.

    We have a new reunion directing “team” pulling this all together, and we can’t do this without you! Where do you see yourself jumping in and helping out? Teaching a class? Cooking? Leading activities, junior church, or a worship service? Bring your talents and be a part of this year’s reunion memories! Let’s do this!

    REUNION MINISTRY
    Art SmithArt Smith is a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles, the lead missionary quorum of Community of Christ. He is assigned to the South Central USA Mission Field. He has served as Assistant to the Apostle and Leadership Development Coordinator for the Central and South America Mission Field, President of the Southern Cone of the South America, Northwest of South America, Brazil, South American, and Caribbean mission centers. He was Education and Leadership Development Coordinator for the Latin American/Caribbean Field; served the Pacific Mission Field while living in French Polynesia; and was Children, Youth, and Young Adult Minister in the Eastern Canada Mission Center. A native of Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, Arthur received a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and religion from Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, and a Master of Arts in religion from Park University, Parkville, Missouri. Arthur has been a member of the John Whitmer and Mormon History Associations.

    Bill McFarlinBill McFarlin is a Bishop and serves as Field Support Minister for the Western USA Mission Field. His past assignments include USA Field Administrative Support Minister, Financial Officer for Greater Pacific Northwest USA and Inland West USA mission centers, Greater Pacific Northwest USA Mission Center president, Pacific Field Bishop, Pacific Northwest Region Financial Officer, and Pastor of the Fort Collins Congregation in Colorado. Bill’s ministerial passion focuses on the connection between discipleship, stewardship, mission, and spirituality. Bill was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa. His undergraduate education was at Graceland College. He received a doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic and a Master of Arts in Christian ministry from Community of Christ Seminary. Bill is married to Beth, and they have two adult children. Bill and Beth live in Vancouver, Washington. His hobbies include technology and glass fusing.

    Northwest Singles Reunion @ Samish: July 13, 4 pm to July 17, 12 noon


    Singles is a unique supportive reunion experience where widowed, divorced, and never married adults can receive unconditional love and support. We plan a day trip to the San Juan Islands as an adventure together, and we will also celebrate our birthdays!

    REUNION MINISTRY
    Dale LuffmanDale Luffman is the Ecumenical and Interfaith Officer for Community of Christ. He retired from the Council of Twelve Apostles, the lead missionary quorum of Community of Christ, in April 2013. He is assigned to Ecumenical and Interfaith Relationships, Theological Education, and Special Missionary projects, and is Disciple Formation Resource Consultant. His past assignments include the Central USA, Great Lakes USA, Northeast USA and Canada Mission Fields, Northwest/South Central Asia Mission Field, and Lamoni and Kirtland Stakes. A native of Woodburn, Oregon, he received a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Mt. Angel College in Oregon. Dale also has a Master of Education in counseling from Lewis and Clark College, Portland, Oregon; a Master of Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary, New Jersey; and a Doctor of Ministry from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Pennsylvania. Dale serves on the Faith and Order Commission of the National Council of Churches representing Community of Christ. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the Academy of Homiletics, and the Society for the Study of Christian Spirituality. Appointed as an adjunct faculty member of Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, in 1993, Dale is an instructor for Community of Christ Seminary affiliated with Graceland University.

    Come and enjoy the peaceful beauty of Camp Remote while experiencing the ministry, fellowship, great food, and fun that Remote Family Reunion offers. We anticipate a great week, with ministry provided by Don and Carrie Welch. Highlights will include powerful worships, engaging classes for all age groups, intergenerational fellowship services, lively chats, fun and spiritually-uplifting campfires, and MUCH MORE!

    REUNION MINISTRY
    Carrie WelchCarrie Welch is the Field Support Minister for the Southeast Field. She has previously served the church as Open Table Director, Youth and Young Adult Minister, and Graceland Campus Minister. Carrie was born in Oregon but moved to Independence in elementary school. She loves being back “home” with her husband Donald and their two daughters, one of whom is in college and the other in middle school. Carrie enjoys traveling and quilting and is happy to be sharing the week at Remote reunion.
