Special
Mission Center Conference
You’re invited to attend a Special
Mission Center Conference at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 14, at Samish
Island Campgrounds. The conference immediately precedes our
first reunion this summer, Samish Adult Reunion, featuring guest
ministers Danny Belrose, former Presiding Evangelist, and Francine
Inslee, Congregational Support Minister. The one and only agenda
item at this one-hour conference will be sharing testimonies and
requesting sustaining votes for the following priesthood calls:
• Barbara Hawksford, Crystal Springs Congregation (Bothell,
WA), to Evangelist. • Francine Inslee, Crystal Springs
Congregation, to Evangelist. • Clint Jacks, Redmond Congregation
(Redmond, OR), to Evangelist. • John Mills, Salem Congregation
(Salem, OR) to High Priest. Whether you’re traveling a
long or short distance to attend, you are welcome to enjoy the
beautiful campgrounds, stay for an evening meal and our first
worship at 7:15 p.m., featuring Danny Belrose as speaker, and even
stay for the weekend in one of our cabins before your trip home. We
will need advance registration for any meals or cabin by June
2; click here for
a registration form. If you have already registered for Adult
Reunion, your reservations are already taken care of. Thank you for
demonstrating your support of these candidates for ordination. I
hope to see you on June 14! --

Storm
Relief Update
In December, Lewis County suffered
from a catastrophic flooding event and was declared a disaster area.
Congregations from Neilton, WA to Lincoln City, OR were impacted. In
cooperation with the Presiding Bishopric, we were able to direct
$6250 of Oblation Funds to the areas needing the most help. To
supplement that aid, we created a Mission Center Storm Relief Fund
to give members of our congregations an opportunity to contribute to
this effort. To date, we have received an additional $4500 toward
this fund to support storm relief efforts in the Pacific Northwest.
We have partnered with two more organizations in this most recent
storm relief effort--the Salvation Army and Friends of Lewis County
Animal Shelter (FOLCAS). Both of these organizations are still
providing direct services to those most impacted by the storms in
December. Special thanks go out to Celina McKinney
(member of Puyallup congregation, who works for WA Emergency
Management-Unmet Needs) for her help in connecting us with these
organizations. And to all of you, thank you for your generosity and
the changes in lives that it brings.

Grove congregation has formed a team for the American Cancer
Society's Relay-For-Life! This is a fundraising event to help fund
research for cures for cancer. Our Community of Christ team has set

you can help:
- Send a tax-deductible monetary donation; $5, $10, $20, $50 -
every dollar counts to help find cures! Deadline for donations is
June 4, 2008.

offered an additional $5 donation for each friend that comes to
the relay to walk for 30 minutes!
