Dear Members of the Greater Pacific Northwest Mission Center:
I regret to announce that Elva Eliason, our Mission Center Recorder and Database Administrator, has decided to retire, effective January 15, 2009. We all will miss her knowledge, skill, inside-track on everything, dedication, discretion, humor, customer service, friendship and wise coaching. We wish her many blessings in her retirement.
The hiring process begins next week. We are seeking a full-time employee living in the Greater Vancouver / Portland area who will work primarily from a home office. Some travel and weekend work is required. The position is open to Community of Christ members and non-members. We will post more information on the Mission Center Web site, including a job description and application process and timeline, later this month.
Elva will continue to work full time through Mission Center Conference, November 8-9, and then reduce her hours to part-time through Jan. 15, 2009, to train her successor. Recorders and pastors will continue to follow the same procedures previously announced to report MC Conference delegates, officer changes, membership contact information changes and life events.
I am very grateful for Elva’s service and mentoring during my time as Mission Center President. I’m sure all of my predecessors found her indispensable and would say the same thing!
